My wiki maxim
In wikis, the number of topics expanded by someone other than the users who created them is proportional to the overall usefulness of the wiki.
Wikis only thrive through asynchronous, gradual improvement. The constant of proportionality between the utility and the contributions of individuals is the wikitility index (wiki + utility). In other words, walled gardens = failure.
